Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is it ok to participate even if I am a complete beginner?
A. Absolutely. Our beginner classes (starting at 3:40 p.m.) start with the most basic steps, so that beginners can easily participate, and then apply what they have learned in the social dancing that follows.
Q. When should I arrive?
A. Aim to arrive about ten minutes before the first class that you wish to take. For the beginner class, plan to arrive at 3:30 p.m. For the intermediate class, plan to arrive at 2:30 p.m. For the advanced class, plan to arrive at 1:50 p.m.
Q. What should I wear?
A. You should wear something that feels comfortable, and in which you can move freely. There is no need to dress up. If you don’t have ballroom or Latin dance shoes, try to bring shoes in which you will be able to move and turn easily on the wooden dance floor. Leather-soled shoes are quite good for this purpose.
Q. How much does Pink Jukebox cost?
A. A day at Pink Jukebox costs £12 for members and £14 for non-members; this charge covers all lessons attended plus the social dance. It is cheaper if you book in advance from Bishopsgate Institute. (£10 for members, £12 for non-members) Membership costs £10 and lasts for one year.
